Ilorin Descendants Progressive Union came into being in 1943 and it was registered as a Socio - Cultural Organisation under the existing laws of the then Northern Nigeria. The union has her members and executive members spread all over the five Local Government Areas in the Emirate (Asa, Ilorin East, Ilorin South, Ilorin West and Moro Local Government) Areas and has branches all over the world.
